The PTSD Project

Vulnerable Veterans Scheme

Who qualifies for support?

  • Any veteran from the armed forces including reservists
  • Any serviceman or woman who is about to leave or is going through transition
  • It doesn’t matter how long ago you left or in what circumstances.
  • A veteran is classed as somebody who has served in the regulars or reserves and been paid, even if it was only for 1 day.
  • Commonwealth servicemen and women are entitled to use our services.

Nationwide support

We operate in all parts of the UK
  • England
  • Wales
  • Scotland
  • Northern Ireland

We do not have offices in all parts of the UK but we have contacts in each region and outreach workers, our Veteran Support Workers.

Do you have immediate concerns?

Do you need to talk to somebody? A chance to talk things through, we can help. Call 0300 365 0333 and speak to one of our volunteers.

We can set goals together as to what you need for the future and how to achieve those goals.

Finding you help

The PTSD Project UK will do everything within our power to help you with your problems and stick with you all the way through, even if we refer you to another agency for a service that we don’t provide ourselves.

We can refer clients to a wide range of organisations and carefully select the organisation that has the most expertise in the required field.

We can work with organisations such as the Citizens Advice Bureau, Royal British Legion, SSAFA,  the National Probation Service and we have access to a range of pro bono solicitors and human right lawyers at hand to assist with legal advice.

What we can do to help

We can assist you with many different issues, listed below:

  • Housing
  • Making sure you have the right benefits, allowances and pensions
  • Debt (money management advice, referrals to other charities who may be able to help financially)
  • Rehabilitation and support for drug and alcohol problems
  • Volunteering work
  • Helping you to write a CV and get into work

Everybody at The PTSD Project UK has a close personal connection to the Armed Forces, many are veterans themselves. Call us on 0300 365 0333 and let’s see how we can help.

Does somebody you know need help?

We know that many veterans may be too proud to ask for help. If you know somebody that needs help, you can let us know by using the contact form here or by calling 0300 365 0333.

Please complete the form below and press send. We will register you and one of the team will contact you shortly. We got your back.

That’s it, once you have completed the form or alternatively called the Veterans In Crisis Line on 0300 365 0333 to register for the Vulnerable Veterans Scheme, you are in the system and we know about you. You are back as a member of a community of brothers and sisters who look out for each other. Should you find yourself in a tricky situation in the future as a result of your PTSD or other related condition/disorder, we will be alerted to your whereabouts and be in a position to make sure that the authorities are alerted to your veteran status and your injuries/illnesses. We will protect your rights and make sure that you are treated fairly. You may no longer be part of the active Armed Forces community but you are not alone.

When you are injured or ill I will be your guardian angel. One day I may need the same help and I know my fellow veterans will not be found wanting, because that is not what we do.

You will receive your Vulnerable Veterans Scheme ID Card via post, keep an eye on your email, we will ask you to send an up to date photograph to feature on the card, then within 14 days you will have your card. In the meantime we are emailing you a letter to print and keep on you.
